The Trade Alliance announces their next convention for software users

The last convention of The Trade Alliance for exchanges was held in Oct. in Phoenix. If you have never attended one of our conventions before talk to some of the exchanges that have, you will find they found it a learning experience, enjoyed the leisure activities and the chance to network with the other exchanges. This year we expect the biggest turn out ever. leisure time activities for exchanges and their guests, spouses or friends include Hot Air Baloon Rides, and golf among other things. Past attendees include Bill and Donna of Banc Marc, Melissa of The Barter Authority, Laurie of Barterworks, Heidi of National Trade Banc, Rolf of Local Trade Partners, Cynthia and Ralph of Barter First to name just a few. Unlike many other barter conventions The Trade Alliance pays for the hotel, breakfasts, dinners, leisure time activities and the welcome reception on Tuesday night.

Under a new revenue sharing plan all barter exchanges using The Trade Alliance barter software are able to earn substantial revenue under the new revenue sharing plan put in place January 1, 2011. Complete details of this exciting new program is given to all our barter software users.

Mobile Marketplace

We are now in the year of mobile devices. Trends shows that more and more people will browse the Internet using their phone or mobile device instead of a regular computer. Although most companies that barter are not early adopters in terms of technology we started to see some changes in 2011.

As such, we have launched a prototype for a Mobile marketplace targeted at mobile devices with a decent screen. This should open a brand new set of possibilities for the barter industry where members are able to browse the Marketplace directly from their mobile phone.

Note that we also have a mobile interface to post transactions that works with most, if not all, mobile phones that support WAP. This interface is targeted at low-end phones. See this article for some screenshots.

API for Marketplace

We offer an API for the Marketplace allowing you to create your own very custom e-commerce website using PHP, Java, .net or any modern language.

Note: you will most likely need to hire a professional developer to take advantage of that feature and there are over 80 available on trade within our network.

The marketplace has some CMS features bundled with it that will allow you to load some informative content for your users and customize the look and feel.

Very easily you’ll be able to:

Change your header, logo and tagline
Change the colors and fonts to create a custom skin for your e-commerce website.
Customize the Home page, FAQ, and other default pages included with the marketplace.
Add new pages with any content
Add pictures and Videos using the full featured editor
Create content in multiple languages (e.g. English & Spanish)
